Quick: What do Bono, Adam Clayton, Larry Mullen Jr. and the Edge have in common with the Burlington Patriots “Junior Midgets” cheerleaders?
If you said passion, drive, and a strong moral core of social responsibility, you would be correct.
But you also would be right if you knew that both acts will be playing the historic Somerville Theatre in historic Davis Square near historic Tufts University.
The Burlington Patriots, which boast 13 Pop Warner national titles, know a little bit about history, too.
But their story can be your story. So stay tuned here and get psyched to attend the official world premiere of “Blood, Sweat & Cheers,” the inspiring documentary about what it takes to get to the top.
U2, naturally, already knows what it takes to get to the top. And they will be playing a live show in Somerville tomorrow night to be simultaneously broadcast on the radio.
“Blood, Sweat & Cheers” will be a featured documentary screening at the esteemed Independent Film Festival Boston (IFFB) from April 22-28. More detailed schedule and ticket information will be posted soon.
In honor of Bono, we wonder if any cheerleaders out there might be willing to perform their routines while wearing amber-colored glasses. Just don’t try a standing tuck — those specs look like they might add 5 pounds to Bono’s head!
